Characterised by dynamism and a multisensory appeal, the surprising solutions provided by beierarbeit often are the result of long-standing customer relationships. The Bielefeld-based agency develops complex corporate identities as well as solutions in the areas of communication, space and interactive design – primarily for the industry but also for the culture and education sectors. “The topics and content are self-evident to the creatives working in these fields, and we rarely have to explain our chosen approach. We are all on the same wavelength and lack of imagination is not an issue”, founder Christoph Beier explains. With a good deal of passion and intuition, he and his small team deliver seminal projects.

Red Dot: Is the world of art and culture becoming more approachable in general?
beierarbeit: That always depends on the character of the individual client. In Bielefeld, an artistic focus is considered “mainstream”. People’s attitudes and actions are not defined by an ivory-tower mentality here. Sadly, the same cannot be said of the art and cultural scene as a whole.
Different rooms and cultural offers had to be brought together for the video presentation of the Rudolf Oetker Halle …
That was definitely a challenge. We chose a central perspective inspired by the architecture of the Oetker Halle to create visual harmony. Changes in space and visual depth in the edit were created through swish pans and jump cuts. And a virtuoso drone flight is of course a must today. The typography and branding are unobtrusive carriers of information, with the music setting the pace.
