Saskia Pierschek worked in the agency business for 10 years, most recently as art director for several years. During this time, she was responsible for the digital communication and digitisation strategies of high-ranking corporations. Then she ventured into self-employment and founded her own agency – Pierraa. The PierraaGroup is a symbiosis of management consultancy and agency for brand management in the premium segment. Her team looks after a high-quality client portfolio at executive board level in internal processes as well as in international product and brand communication. This includes automobile manufacturers as well as the manufacturing industry in the steel, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. The PierraaGroup comprises four specialised units which cover the fields of consulting, design, digital and event, thus ensuring the highest level of quality and synergies for its clients. In the meantime, it has grown to become one of the leading agencies in the region.
Interview with PierraaGroup
Red Dot: Why did you become a designer?
PierraaGroup: My personality is full of contrasts which I can make use of in this field of activity. On the one hand, I have an impetuous mind, I am emphatic, impulsive and have a creative disposition. On the other hand, I am extremely disciplined, quickly grasp, am goal-orientated and well organised. I’m a creative long-distance runner, so to speak – I can make ideal use of this in complex, international brand work.
What does design mean to you?
Design offers me the opportunity to unite strategy and creativity, meaning brain and heart, equally within one process.
To what extent do you think new technologies are changing design?
Due to the constantly growing diversity of communication channels and increasingly complex output media, the preliminary considerations to be made are increasingly coming into focus. The central challenge is to understand and depict this complexity – and to do justice to it.
What makes your work unique?
The constant in our designs are Pierraas born with creativity in their veins. The symbiosis of all our skills is omnipresent in our work and makes it unique.
What intention do you pursue with your award-winning work?
The central theme here is “symbiotic comprehensibility”. Complex details should be transported to the target group at a glance – through a variety of communication media – in a sustainable way.
