Brilliant Efficiency

Generally, only medical and clinical personnel tend to be aware of the advantages of precision technology in the world of medicine, such as fast diagnoses, short treatment times and minimally invasive procedures, all noticeably benefiting patients. This positive development is also finding its way into dental laboratories, where high-tech equipment eliminates the need for fiddly and time-consuming manual work. To enhance the efficiency of the digital workflow, the F8 laboratory scanner was developed to place two models at the same time and then it scans both of them, one after the other, with minimum hands-on interaction. The F8 scanner’s open design permits fast access and provides plenty of space for larger models. This scanner is not only suitable for planned crowns, bridges or implant bars, but can also be used for scanning upper and lower jaw models, for example. Moreover, it has a magnetic place-and-scan feature for fast and intuitive model positioning. Once the models are in place, the scan process begins automatically so that the lab worker can return to other tasks. An additional height adaptor, an articulator plate and a secure model holder are some of the other clever details incorporated into the F8. Technical innovations aside, the designers obviously put great effort into creating an aesthetically pleasing look. The F8’s asymmetrical design with rounded edges gives it a dynamic appearance, whereas accentuating details such as the aluminium ring communicate clarity and precision. This scanner certainly pays homage to Scandinavian design traditions by combining minimal form with maximum function. “The F8 dual model scanner has a clear, dynamic form, is made of high-quality materials and presents a well-thought-out design. Its open structure and intuitive operation simplify workflow in dental labs, where time is often a major factor,” found the jurors.
