Brown sugar once played a significant role in Taiwan’s economy. The early days of sugar production date back to the times of the late Ming Dynasty in the 17th century. Therefore, this packaging design takes the idea of an empire as a starting point to honour sugar as a cultural asset. The concept is characterised by stylised illustrations, some of them modern, others with an ethnic touch. The special mixture of styles helps to communicate historical aspects in a simple way and to arouse curiosity about details. The illustrations are complemented by a golden brown palette, which mirrors the typical colours of cane sugar.
