People are constantly attached to their phones due to the popularity of smart phones, whether it is for mobile communication, watching videos, playing games, or scrolling through dating apps. Naturally, this weakens real-life relationships and increases the risk of other harmful situations as a result of diverted attention. SIGNAL uses a series of tongue-in-cheek posters and good-natured irony to depict the impact of mobile phones on people’s relationships. The social goal is to make people aware that they may be neglecting those around them. The poster shows two characters and rates their interaction on a “signal strength” scale ranging from 0G to 4G to WIFI. The stronger the signal, the higher the level of intimacy.
