Wedding Rings
Tsunagaru
The Japanese word “tsunagaru” means “togetherness”. These wedding rings tell a story. With their own hands the happy couple divides a single ring in two. This shared experience strengthens the couple’s bond. This act leaves a trace that is an integral part of the rings’ design. The wedding rings are made using the traditional Japanese craftsmanship technique Mokume Gane which is 400 years old. According to this technique, several layers of non-ferrous metal are welded together.
Statement by the Jury
The design of the Tsunagaru wedding rings and their discreet appearance have great symbolic meaning and are intended to restate the bond between married couples on a daily basis.
