Pieces

The posters for “Pieces”, a photographic artwork and exhibition by Mingmei Meng, are an appealing and effective way of setting a scene for an art project which is related to the body, relationships, childhood memories, limitations and ideals. The title of the exhibition and the name of the artist are deliberately fragmented. Letters of small white squares dissolve gradually as they approach the middle of the posters until finally form a Chinese character for “piece” on the upper right corner. The subtle arrangements of these fragments ensure the idea recognisably for the visitor, who can easily grasp the crucial details.
