The product concept for Njord is based on Danish design furniture from the mid-20th century in terms of their material and feel. The overall goal was to produce kitchen knives that do not follow the trend of the times but are aimed at remaining in use for generations. While the blades are handmade in Japan, the wooden handles are products of Danish craftsmanship. To convey a unique feel, the handles are carefully carved, sanded and oiled.
