The design approach of the KODA robot dog was to make it usable for photographic and film documentation, as a mobile surveillance camera, as a navigation aid for the visually impaired and as a companion for people who are not allowed to keep a pet. Its streamlined, smooth surface exudes friendliness, making the device easy to integrate into home environments. The on/off button is concealed yet easily accessible at the back. The system for the simultaneous positioning and mapping of the surroundings is integrated into the front of the head along with a torch. The head is surrounded by a metal band that enhances KODA’s dynamic appearance.
