When it comes to accent lighting for terraces, paths or flower beds, flexibility is a true game changer. After all, it also is fun to keep trying out new arrangements or adjusting the lighting effects to different usage scenarios. The target-oriented idea of Flia’s development was to produce a slim floor lamp with a micro-LED diffuser that can be flexibly placed anywhere and offers a high degree of mobility. The consistent design language focused on the miniaturisation of the light source, which lends the lamps an air of aesthetic lightness. The filigree carbon stem is supported by a cylindrical base that, despite its compactness, houses all electronic components. The easy-to-move, unobtrusive-looking lamps were designed for outdoor use. They are available with either a ground spike or a stand, which also allows them to be used indoors. They are stable and can withstand strong winds thanks to their small cross-section. Flia is available in a single configuration with three different heights or as a multiple grouping with two or three stems. Depending on the brightness level, the battery-powered version enables an operating time of approximately four to eight hours. The lamp version with base can be controlled via a remote control and the rechargeable version via a control wheel on the base.
Statement by the Jury
Thanks to its slender contours and aesthetic language of form, Flia can be used discreetly both outdoors and indoors. The option of battery operation increases not only the quality but also the range of use. In particular, the functionality of the miniaturised LEDs is highly convincing, so that the lamps fulfil sophisticated demands for individual lighting.
