Founded in Bamberg, Germany, in 2019 under the motto “Feel the Base”, BASECOFFEE is a sustainably managed cafe with tasty soul food creations and high-quality coffee specialties. The concept is to support the fitness and well-being of its guests with healthy and lovingly prepared organic products and, with its club atmosphere and cosy furniture, to do something good for body and soul in an urban environment. Clear and minimalist, the visual appearance therefore features the basic colour of mint green complemented by additional pastel colours, which are intended to lend the notion of quality to the brand, as well as a certain lightness, independence and freshness. The new appearance is linked to hand-painted drawings that give the brand identity its own individuality and assigns different characteristics in the form of bizarre and exotic figures to the various types of coffee, which can also be ordered via the online shop. With these figures, the packaging is a real eye-catcher.

Statement by the Jury

The visual identity for the sustainability-based concept of BASECOFFEE fascinates with a consistent approach that merges colours, illustrations and typography to form a coherent unit. The inviting and humorous aesthetic of the branding for a cafe, including its own coffee brand, has been well conceived and convincingly promotes the brand’s contemporary urban and ecological claim.
