The ATOM is a rugged hard hat that allows construction teams to perform pre-works error checking, monitor work in progress and evaluate completed work in real time by holographically superimposing 3D models over real-world environments using an on-board computer and augmented reality/AR waveguide displays. This makes it possible to detect and correct deviations in real time throughout the construction process. For communication between teams on site and in the office, the ATOM connects to industry-standard construction management software. “With its design and technical merits, the ATOM delivers a glimpse into the construction industry of the future,” said the jury.
