The brand design studio specialises in brand image design such as for the British Chinese Chamber of Commerce, JG Investment Shenzhen or the “Hometown of Shandong Cuisine” – Yantai, Shandong, in visual promotion and image design, e.g. for the Guangdong Tourism Bureau and in packaging design, e.g. for the Tsingtao Brewery and Hans Beer.
Studio OY UK interviewed by Red Dot
Red Dot: Where do you see future challenges in communication design?
Studio OY UK: It’s not merely enough to think about new hardware, corporate needs or visual trends. In the short term, digital design will move from screens to physical surfaces and augmented or artificial environments, and designers will take on the role of directing or consulting on larger and more complex experience systems. Design is already less visual and more collaborative and will continue to follow that trend.
Do you have a specific design approach for your projects?
We normally start with research to get to know more about the products/brands. This is followed by brainstorming meetings to determine our direction. From that point, we can involve our clients and get ready for the next stage.
