Interview with Qubstudio
Red Dot: The corporate design for 44GROUP is very complex. When developing identities, do you think primarily of digital or analogue applications?
Qubstudio: In the case of 44GROUP, we concentrated on the client's requirement of using visual identity on physical objects, specifically furniture. Thus, our solution was to create sharp and bold graphics and typography. Still, it’s always crucial for us also to show how identity can work in digital. And this solution allowed us to enrich and scale the identity by adding some movement for digital usage.
How much flexibility do corporate designs need to have these days?
In today’s dynamic reality, brands communicate a lot. And you never know what you as a brand will need to say tomorrow. That’s why a brand’s corporate design needs a distinctive visual language, enabling it to be open to different contexts and realities but still preserving the brand’s uniqueness.
