Viewing Pavilion
WaterWalk
“WaterWalk” is a sculpture and viewing pavilion on Jebu Island, South Korea, that is well known for its sea-parting phenomena twice a day. Positioned in the sea, at the starting point of this sea road, the sculpture serves as a gateway. At high tide, the deck of the sculpture touches the water surface, giving visitors an impressive experience as if walking over water. At low tide, the viewing pavilion allows one to observe the sea road appearing like vast mud flats. Built as a 44-metre-long and 10-metre-high structure, it is camouflaged with an undulating anodised aluminium surface. Seamlessly integrat-ing into the surroundings, it reflects and projects the changing elements of the environment, such as the weather and the tide.
