Tube-feeding or nutritional support is a therapy for people who cannot get enough nutrition by eating or drinking. Today’s equipment comprises a nutrition bag and tube connected to the user’s insertion spot. For tube feeding outside of the home, the equipment also consists of a backpack where the nutrition bag is placed, along with a nutrition pump. Offering a more discreet solution, Tubie is an ambulatory tube-feeding system that facilitates an active everyday life for people in need of enteral nutrition. Unlike traditional enteral nutrition systems, Tubie is designed with a focus on both home usage and an active lifestyle in social environments. Due to its wearable features, Tubie is easily made discreet by allowing the user to wear it under most types of clothing. The waistband is made from a breathable and elastic polyester material that makes it comfortable to wear for long hours. Tubie then controls the pump via a smart device with an adaptable pre-alarm that sounds just like a regular smartphone ringtone. Tubie consists of six parts: a nutrition pump, wireless charging station, a nutrition bag, external tubing, a wearable waist band with a pocket to place the nutrition bag and attach the pump, and a smart device application to easily control the pump and track the feeding process.
