OSOL

OSOL is a permanent art pavilion installed at Gungpyung Pine Habitat (GPH) on the west coast of South Korea. Over 1,000 pine trees have been standing along the tidal beach for 100 years. This beautiful scenery was unveiled to the public after the military wire fences, which had been erected during the Cold War era with North Korea, were torn down. The pavilion aims to lure visitors to the beach by offering shelter from the strong sea wind and the sun. Inspired by the view of the pine forest and light reflections on the sea, the forest-like structure of the pavilion with its anodised aluminium reflects the surrounding colours. The view of the ocean and the pine forest through the pavilion allows visitors to experience the new perspective and harmony of nature.
