One for Everything

“Just MET is Wonderful” reads the claim of this lighting system. The reason for this self-confident assertion quickly becomes clear when looking at the product: The MET 1.0 is designed in such a way that countless lighting scenarios can be covered with this system alone – in private living spaces as well as in office environments or in the contract sector. The basis for this high level of flexibility is the “i Platform”, a 24-volt magnetic track. This low-voltage track can be installed horizontally or vertically, suspended or upright or discreetly integrated into walls or furniture. Once installed, connected and supplied with power, it can be fitted with different modules as required to illuminate larger areas, create functional lighting solutions such as reading lights or desk lamps or set individual lighting accents. The elements are simply inserted into the track at the desired position and thus integrated into the circuit. The lighting angle can be freely adjusted thanks to an innovative ball head design. With the help of an intelligent light switching module, the light sources plugged into the track can be switched on and off individually or in groups and their brightness and light colour can be controlled. It is also possible to extend the functional range by plugging in charging options, air fresheners, mosquito plugs or other devices. As different as the modules are, they are united by a coherent design language: Following the design principle of “less is more”, a minimalist approach with basic geometric shapes was chosen to incorporate all elements and ensure a uniform appearance. “The designers have succeeded in combining a complex, highly functional system with simple handling and the resulting high level of user-friendliness as well as a coherent, minimalist aesthetic in a very creative way,” said the jury. “The MET 1.0 gives customers a great deal of scope to create individual solutions for their very personal needs with a single luminaire family and to adapt or redesign the lighting again and again in the simplest possible way.”
