Ferrari can look back on a long tradition of successful sports car races, such as the Italian Mille Miglia, but it was not until later that the company began to also build cars for the road. Based on the V12 engine, the Ferrari Monza SP1 is a limited-edition special series that is also available as a two-seat model (Monza SP2). The first in the new “Icona” segment of special models, the design of the Monza SP1 draws inspiration from the most evocative Ferraris of the 1950s. It combines state-of-the-art technology with the maxim of pure design. Conceived as a single-seat road car, it impresses with an architecture that is based on a monolithic form with an aerodynamic wing profile. The complete absence of a roof and windscreen gave the Ferrari Design team, lead by Flavio Manzoni, the freedom to create captivating proportions that otherwise would not have been possible on a traditional spider. As a result, this Ferrari boasts an outstanding feel of speed that is otherwise only experienced by Formula 1 drivers. This driving experience is also derived from the concept of a cockpit that seems to be carved from the car’s very volume to wrap around the driver. An innovative and patented “virtual wind - shield” deviates the airflow to deliver an impressive “en plein air” driving pleasure and comfort. Despite its roots, coherent with the Ferrari tradition, the Monza SP1 represents a new enticing projection into the future.

Based on the Ferrari models of the 1950s, it establishes a novel expressive design vocabulary. Particularly impressive are the beautiful proportions and the quality of the finishes. Captivating with excellent design details such as the sloping waistline, the car establishes an intense relationship with the driver.
