Eco Steam Workshops

The mission behind Eco Steam Workshops is to help educators teach environmental awareness to children through a playful learning experience in the scope of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics). The workshops use products from the award-winning Green Science series as a medium of education. Eco Steam Workshops include 12 sessions evenly divided between the main themes of Energy, Air and Water. Each workshop lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. To relieve the already heavy workload of teachers, a set of handy teaching guides, eye-catching teaching aids and interesting workshop materials are provided. Teachers will find everything they need to engage the children, including a systematic programme that enables them to approach environmental issues and solutions with simple and fun scientific principles. They only have to follow the user-friendly teaching guide to conduct the workshops. The Eco Steam Workshops are not meant to replace regular curriculums. They are intended to be a supplement that enriches the curriculum through playful learning. To provide enough flexibility for these workshops to fit into the school curriculum and calendar, they are designed to be conducted as individual units and whenever appropriate, whether during school hours, for after-school activities, or part of school festivals. This workshop format encourages children to interact with each other and explore subject matters through intuitive materials, inspiring games and free play. We hope to develop a workshop prototype that can be duplicated effortlessly, translated into different languages, and provided at a reasonably low cost for schools all over the world.
