Transport & Public Sector App
DB Rad+
To get more commuters travelling by bike and rail, Deutsche Bahn came up with the idea to reward users for cycling. With the DB Rad+ app, they can track their cycling routes and use the kilometres they clock up as credit to pay for offers at local retailers. When designing the app, the focus was on making the UX as simple as possible. No registration is necessary and cyclists can start collecting kilometres straight away, which they can then spend via an in-app scan. The mobility data collected is used to identify cycling hotspots, helping the city to plan new cycle paths.
