Boond™, an AdditionalNeeds™ Feeder For Cleft Lip And Cleft Palate Babies

Due to an incomplete oral anatomy, babies with cleft lips or palates are often unable to generate enough suction to feed on their own, thus requiring feeding assistance. Boond™ is a ‘paced’ feeding aid that is intuitive to the caregiver and sensitive to a baby’s unique anatomy. ‘Boond’ in Hindi means ‘a drop’, which is exactly how the cleft babies will be fed – a drop at a time. The Boond™ feeder allows the user to maintain a balance between the quantity of feed and the speed at which it is being dispensed. Its various attachments are designed for colostrum feeding, feeding with the Nasoalveolar molding (NAM) device and post-operative feeding.
