The packaging for the coffee brand Bieder & Maier intends to unite Viennese coffee-house culture with a modern design and brand development. The name is taken both from the era when numerous coffee houses were opened and from the barista Valentin Maier. The design is inspired by the first giraffe ever to be brought to Vienna in 1828. This was a sensation back then, and in its honour, coffee houses soon started offering coffee “à la giraffe”. This tradition has now been successfully revived in 2018.
