In 1967, Ariel launched for the first time a washing powder with active enzymes offering pristine whites. In order to celebrate 50 years of innovation in laundry, a limited edition of handcrafted posters was created, printed with Ariel powder. They were supposed to break away from typical detergent stereotypes, conveying the beauty of the brand design as well as the science and the ingenuity behind its product efficacy. To highlight its product benefits, the washing powder was mixed with a special ink and used for manual silkscreen printing. A series of three posters were created which set a radiant contrast against a light-green background, with each motif relating to the shape of the washing machine drum.
