AiryTail
AiryTail, a mask-shaped air purifier, is designed to bring improved air quality for the user and their direct surrounding environment. The air quality around streets with heavy traffic is polluted with dust and other harmful particulates. This exposes motorcyclists, pedestrians and residents in these areas to pollutants regularly. AiryTail operates a ‘dual airflow system’ to create two airflows sending clean air to motorcyclists and others around them. Working together produces a big impact in creating clean air despite how individual contributions are limited. This is a social-action product that aims to foster a better global environment.
AiryTail has three key functions. Firstly, AiryTail effectively prevents the inhalation of particulate contaminants such as PM2.5*, pollen and dust (*PM2.5 is a general term for microparticulate matter of 2.5 microns or less). Secondly, a single motorcyclist who wears AiryTail can release the filtered air equivalent to the respiratory volume of about 30* people (*About 14,000 litres of filtered air is released when driving at 30 km/h for one hour, which is theoretically equivalent to the breathing of about 30 people per hour).
As more riders wear AiryTail, there will be a net positive effect on the surrounding environment. In the future, the AiryTail app will also potentially provide a points system based on the volume of air that the user has purified. Any points earned can be used to purchase replacement filters or other products.
