Absolut Craft (Bartender’s Collection)

Absolut Craft does not only call attention to itself with new innovative flavours but also through a new design concept, the challenge of which was to create a vessel that would carry these new expressions. The original Absolut bottle was inspired by a Swedish apothecary bottle. Retaining this iconic silhouette, Absolut Craft reflects the brand’s heritage by featuring the alchemic symbol for distillation in the logo on the bottle. Each bottle of the three different flavours Herbaceous Lemon, Smokey Tea and Bitter Cherry features a subtle silver-grey metallic coating that was inspired by Victorian medicine flasks and jars and which protects the natural ingredients. The typography was pared down to the minimum and set in a font that clearly differentiates this range as something new from Absolut. Thus, the bottle for these new vodkas is as impressive as the liquid it contains, which is made from fine botanicals and natural raw ingredients, creating a unique and refined flavour experience. The Absolut Craft range is only available for bartenders, created in small and labor-intensive batches by Absolut together with the innovative mixologist Nick Strangeway. Statement by the jury »Well-known brands distinguish themselves through unmistakable identities and thus often face the difficulty of how to create something truly new within the limits of their strict corporate design regulations. Absolut Craft achieved this nonetheless: its corporate identity is stylish, contemporary and matched thoroughly to the content – yet it also unmistakably retains its own iconic brand image.«
