Honouring the best designers and manufacturers of the year
The award ceremony is the crowning finale for the winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design. It is organised every summer in Essen, the home city of the Red Dot Design Award.
The Red Dot Gala marks the start of the day. The winners of the Red Dot: Best of the Best receive their trophies in the city’s venerable opera house, the Aalto Theatre. Traditionally, the initiator and CEO of Red Dot, Professor Dr. Peter Zec, hosts the evening himself. He will be accompanied by members of the Red Dot jury as he honours the winners. The Aalto Ballet will provide cultural enrichment with a performance of a piece from the current programme. The grand finale of the event is the honouring of the Red Dot: Design Team of the Year.
After the Red Dot Gala, the celebrations continue at the after-show party “Designers' Night”. The impressive event extends over several halls on the site of the disused Zollverein colliery. The Red Dot Design Museum takes centre stage. Here, the winners of the competition year can admire their own products in the newly opened special exhibitions. Exclusively for the night of the award ceremony, award-winning vehicles of all classes will be presented in a hall over 50 metres long. On the dance floor in the middle of the museum, a DJ will heat up the party atmosphere and get guests dancing until the early hours of the morning. Things are a little more relaxed in the beer garden.
In the competition year 2025, the award ceremony will take place on 8 July 2025. The winners will be informed in good time about the opportunity to take part in the event.
