Uwe Melichar

Uwe Melichar, born in 1968, studied communication design at Muthesius University in Kiel and worked at the Factor brand agency for 25 years. As the agency’s managing partner, he helped to build its packaging business unit. In 2020, he left Factor and started a new company of his own, called MELICHAR Bros.

In April 2024, Uwe Melichar was appointed as “Partner Europe” at the famous touch agency in Maidenhead, near London, where he now provides his expertise as a designer and works on expanding the customer base in Europe.

Over the course of his career, Uwe Melichar has realised projects for adidas, Bosch, C&A, Gardena, Omron and Miele. Today, he and his British colleagues develop packaging and communication design for clients in Japan, China, the USA and various European countries. As a lecturer at several universities, including the University of Augsburg, Uwe Melichar shares his expertise with the next generation of designers. 

He is a lifetime member of the Type Directors Club in New York and Vice President of the European Brand & Packaging Design Association (epda).
