Out of Map: Poor Image
Through publishing a photography book of stories and minting NFTs, the Out of Map MAP project hopes to help these forgotten groups and objects that have been left behind to ‘re-enter’ society through blockchain.
The photography book box contains individual files, each containing a charming story about the unique life processes of various people and objects: a negative film showing portraits from various angles, a photo that transports you back to a place, or a randomly processed fragmented image. This series of works aims to inspire people to explore the world in new ways and rethink the functions and meanings of street-view maps.
The process begins with minting stereoscopic images into NFTs and uploading them to the blockchain. These images of people and objects can live forever on the blockchain. Because of the NFT marketplace’s royalty distribution system, a portion of the proceeds from each NFT transaction can be donated to relevant public welfare organisations. The designers hopes that the project will provide practical and long-term assistance to the marginalised and the forgotten.
