The best agency in 2011 came from Greece, namely Beetroot Design Group, founded in 2000 by Vangelis Liakos, Alexis Nikou and Yiannis Charalambopoulos. The “Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2011” is involved in projects in all media where graphic design is feasible and applicable – in print, branding as well as in web, video, TV or installations and exhibitions.
“Beetroot is in a brilliant position: a flexible, powerful team with the highest quality”, said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, Founder and CEO of Red Dot. In the 2011 competition, Beetroot won over the jury among other things with its packaging design for frozen seafood and the illustrations for the 45th Dimitria Festival in Thessaloniki. The Red Dot: Agency of the Year accepted the “Stylus” challenge cup for its outstanding creative achievements at the award ceremony on 7 October 2011, which took place for the first time in the Konzerthaus in Berlin.
