The unified remote is a slim-line control for use with cable TV set-top-boxes. It offers the user improved usability over existing offerings by focusing and re-positioning buttons based around their frequency of use. Its arced surfaces follow the natural curvature of the palm when relaxed, guiding the users’ hands towards the essential controls. The concentric buttons are designed to follow the natural arc of the fingers as they reach further across the product, making it easier to operate. The keys have been grouped in clusters, with infrequently used functions being moved to the outer rings, and critical functions being readily accessible with the thumb. This remote has introduced consistency over a wide range of sourced “off-the-shelf‘” products, simplifying customer support for the client.
