The Reencle Zero Gravity food composter transforms food scraps into humus through effective microorganisms. “With its reduced lines and subdued colours such as white or anthracite, it integrates well into any kitchen environment,” the jury emphasised. Reencle Zero Gravity’s lid has a light-sensitive, sensor-controlled opening/closing mechanism. The unit can handle up to 1 kg of food waste per day and only needs to be emptied every one to three months. The inside of the unit is illuminated in the dark, and boasts a power consumption of only 1.25 kWh per day.
