The platform Portraid aims to create a direct and personal bond between the donor and the person receiving the donation, facilitating an emotional dialogue. For the first “IseeYousee” project, the portraits of 88 Moroccan artisans suffering from cataracts were photographed by the well-known German photographer Thomas Rusch. The “portraids” were displayed for sale at an exhibition in the Moroccan Embassy in Berlin and simultaneously on the online portal. The money received for these individual portraits was then directly used to help pay for the operation costs of the person in the picture.
