Philips MyCreation Voilà

Produced using 3D printing technology, the Philips MyCreation Voilà was designed as a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic table lamp. Its iconic silhouette seems familiar, while its unusual materiality gives the lamp a modern twist. The aim of the design concept was to push the boundaries of 3D printing and create an open structure. Inspired by knitting patterns, the resulting design of the base and lampshade has a knitted appearance. The light sparkles subtly through the texture of the shade without causing glare. What fascinated the jury most of all was “the haptically and visually alluring texture that – together with the colouring – produces emotionally appealing lighting”.
