The new Thalys train, nicknamed “RubY”, is a refurbished version of the current Thalys train and thus a more environmentally friendly alternative to brand-new rolling stock. The aim was to increase the train’s capacity while meeting passengers’ expectations in terms of comfort and the travel experience. Inside, the experience has been improved by a more ergonomic seating design, a new lighting concept and the use of premium materials and equipment.
