The igloohome Smart Padlock is a versatile, remotely-managed security solution that provides convenient access control to the owner's properties and assets. Conventional padlocks do not allow for time-sensitive access or the remote granting of access. The Smart Padlock allows for both. Unlike existing Bluetooth padlocks in the market, Smart Padlock does not require users to download an app to receive time-sensitive access codes. Owners can select the duration for which they want to give a specific user access and creates a unique PIN code for them. The user receives the PIN code via email, SMS, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger and keys in the code on the Padlock. When the PIN code subsequently expires, the property and assets are kept secure. While the technology is widely used in Internet banking tokens and RSA tokens, this is the first time it has been applied in the hospitality industry.
