The Halo access control system restricts access to buildings to authorised persons whose faces are reliably recognised in just 0.05 seconds – even at night, as the light of the stars is enough. The jury was impressed by the fact that even wearers of a face mask are still reliably identified and that, in contrast to systems based on numeric codes or fingerprint recognition, contactless recognition prevents the transmission of viruses. Under the five-inch OLED display, the result of the facial recognition is transmitted by means of an illuminated display.
