Newspaper Sticks
For Freedom of Information
The campaign for the human rights organisation “Reporters Without Borders” conveys in a memorable way that in many countries reporters risk torture and oppression by pursuing their profession. In order to draw attention to this, more than 200 newspaper sticks were equipped with current newspapers and a transparent cover over them. The cover features images of journalists holding their arms in the air. In combination with the newspaper sticks, the journalists appear to be shackled, thus portraying a torture scene.
