The development of the Farmlife box focused on the growing need for environmentally friendly packaging solutions. Thanks to a new moulding material made of 100 per cent straw, its production is carbon neutral. “Furthermore, the natural feel of the box is impressive,” said the jury. “The fine straw inclusions highlight the ecological components at first glance.” In addition to the visual impression, the wet-moulded, untreated container smells pleasantly of wheat. Another positive aspect lies in the potential additional income for farmers, who can profitably sell their straw for use in manufacturing.
