EVO Nano+
Ultra-light flying object
When designing and constructing the EVO Nano+ drone, one of the key requirements was to create a product weighing less than 250 grams. This was done to comply with registration requirements under USA law which make exceptions for recreational drones that weigh in beneath this cut-off point. The result of this development process is a drone that, when folded up, is not much larger than a smartphone and which, at 249 grams in weight, is about as heavy as an orange, yet still has a gimbal-mounted 50-MP camera on board, capable of recording detailed images even in poor light conditions. Such miniaturisation is made possible firstly by a drone architecture in which every element has been thoughtfully positioned within the smallest possible space, and secondly by deliberately selecting components and materials according to their weight. Thus, for example, the underside of the die-cast housing is made of a semi-rigid magnesium alloy, making it not only slim, light and robust but also highly heat-dissipating. The design of the EVO Nano+ is minimalistic, focused on aerodynamism and well-balanced, making the drone easy to control and ensuring stable flying properties and high wind resistance. Three-way binocular vision sensors also enable the drone to perceive obstructions in three directions and avoid collisions. The drone is steered via an ergonomic controller whose design is reminiscent of a gamepad.

The EVO Nano+ is an impressively small and light camera drone that offers advanced functionality and good flying properties. With a pared-back look defined by the gently rounded styling, the EVO Nano+ looks straightforward to use, which it is – not only is it light in weight, but also easy to transport, operate and control.
