In any given context – such as in a bathroom, at a cash register, in a restaurant or in a waiting room – the CrossPOD reliably stands by itself when it is not needed and is then immediately ready for use again. An ingenious opening and closing mechanism allows additional feet to be extended for stabilisation of the cane when standing. To walk, those feet are simply retracted again so they are not in the way.
