Cooperative Porter Robot

Designed for use in warehouses, the Cooperative Porter Robot combines a team of two robots to transport trolleys of any shape or size. On command from the control system, each of the two team members extends a gripper arm and takes over one side of the trolley. Together, they transport it to the desired location, guided by sensor-controlled cameras on the warehouse ceiling. The central control system that steers all robots flexibly adapts to changing warehouse layouts and also takes human movements into account to avoid collisions. The jury commended the system’s “potentially groundbreaking functionality and attractively discreet look”.
