Box into Box
Against the backdrop of a contemporary approach towards sustainability, the “Box into Box” design concept aims at tackling the issue of excessive waste due to the fact that IKEA furniture comes in cardboard boxes. This gave rise to the idea that these often generously sized cardboard boxes should be reusable instead of discarded as waste. Thus, the drawing of a smaller box including a suitable lid is printed onto the inside of larger boxes. These can be cut out and folded to form smaller boxes, which in turn may serve as strong, multifunctional and even stackable boxes for storing all sorts of items. This approach not only helps protect the environment; it also offers customers true added value.
