AUR/L Headphones
Most current headphones stumble when trying to accommodate ergonomic requirements of different users, particularly in the area of size adjustment, thus resulting in otherwise pleasant designs disrupted by headbands that split apart in odd places. AUR/L (”aural”) embraces sizing as the basis for its entire design. Ear pieces slide gently within a closed loop at each end of the spring steel headband, transforming a tough design requirement into a distinctive and delightful visual feature.
Through its mechanical simplicity and restrained design approach, AUR/L attempts to use fewer components and less raw material than current top-selling headphones, reducing chances for breakage and causing less environmental impact. The entire headband consists of one part, rather than the complex multi-part assemblies of most other designs, saving energy during manufacture and simplifying the product. Additionally, the strong colour pop on each ear cushion can be changed easily to match wearers’ fashion tastes, encouraging long-term use of the headset and further increasing its sustainability.
