Self-Promotional Materials for a Graduate Show
ADM Travelling Show 2020
As the ADM Show, an annual graduation exhibition of the School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, was cancelled due to COVID-19, the presentation of artworks by 160 students from six disciplines was to go beyond what can traditionally be shown in a physical exhibition. Entitled “Unseen to Seen”, the creativity exhibition was conceived as a “travelling show” and mailed out to leading experts in the creative industry. In response to a relentless year, the lid of the box, which contained various carefully crafted printed products, was given the texture of a haptically pleasing velvet flock print. To mark the work as a graduate manifesto, it was printed in bright neon orange, which also underlines the concept of bringing the invisible to light. Opening the box reveals an all-black interior that proclaims the title of the exhibition on the left and contains six products on the right, each made with different printing techniques that illustrate the essence of the disciplines, such as a French folding publication that stands for visual communication.

The ADM show convinces with its well-thought-out concept in the form of a mailing box that cleverly and ingeniously brings together all six disciplines of the university with an individual printed product on the inside. In this way, the concentrated creativity comes to the people, as the message promises, and makes the artistic and craftsmanship quality of the graduates tangible and unmistakable.
