The final countdown to participate in this year's communication design competition is on! Only until 19 June, creative minds can submit their works to the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2015. Designers and agencies, freelancers or companies have only a few weeks left to secure a chance of the coveted individual awards.
27 experts from the design world are already excited to evaluate the creations in July as part of the Red Dot jury session. The panel comprises, among others, Xu Wang, Holger Windfuhr, Gustavo Greco and Professor Laurent Lacour.
Xu Wang is one of the first graphic designers in China in the course of the economic reform. He is a graduate of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and after working in Hong Kong, he founded his own successful studio in Guangzhou. From Brazil, the Red Dot jury is supported by Gustavo Greco. Moreover, Greco Design was part of the recent National Graphic Design Biennial.
The German designer Holger Windfuhr enriches the jury as an expert in the magazine section. Since 2010, he is working for the German magazine "WirtschaftsWoche". His cover pictures were awarded numerous times. Windfuhr started his career as a designer at "Focus" and then moved to the German edition of "Forbes" magazine. He worked for Condé Nast and Time Inc. in New York as well as the financial press at Gruner+Jahr in Cologne, Germany. The German Professor Laurent Lacour joins the panel as an associate of the design studio “hauser lacour”, based in Frankfurt, Germany. In April 2011, he additionally started his full professorship at the university of applied sciences Dusseldorf, Germany. With "hauser lacour" he has realised extensive and award-winning projects. These include corporate design projects for companies such as Siemens or cultural institutions like the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt, Germany.
