Luo Heng was born in 1986, studied art since the beginning of school, stepped into the field of design 13 years ago. He first established Jianshan media design company and then worked as the brand design director of Shenzhen McCale Group, was active worldwide and engaged in countless brand design. He has won two platinum and two gold awards at the 2021 Muse Packaging Design Awards and in 2022 he won the silver award for packaging design in the Pentawards annual competition. He is good at the integration of life and art, focusing on self-awareness and understanding of life, and the pursuit of visual impact in visual effects.

Red Dot: Why did you become a designer?
Luo Heng: A designer is a magician who can make life full of beauty, who can bring lustre in this colourless world, beautiful design can link the world together like music.
To what extent do you think new technologies are changing design?
3D printing quickly presents packaging structure modelling, providing designers with a more intuitive reference selection.
Which three adjectives best describe your award-winning project?
Warm, loving, funny.
Was your award-winning work inspired by current social issues?
There is still a phenomenon of abuse of stray cats in the society. The design of stray cats can arouse widespread attention and protection of the society.
Please describe the concept of creativity against the background of your award-winning work.
There are so many pet food packagings on the market, we want to create brand differentiation. Painted pets that resemble famous celebrities break the traditional form of expression, bright colours and expressive graphics mix the attraction. The packaging has more commercial value and competitiveness.
