The Xperia S attracts attention with its HD touchscreen which appears to float in the air. This impression is created by a transparent element beneath the display which seems to isolate it from the rest of the housing. This component is not only a design element but also, together with the bottom foundation, serves as main antenna. Furthermore it indicates incoming calls or other communications by means of a light signal, visible from all angles.
Statement by the Jury
The Xperia S convinces due to a technically sophisticated display, whose design is emphasised by the multifunctional, transparent light strip.
