#VictoryFont May: A Typeface to Remember
As Nazi Germany capitulated in May 1945, thousands of soldiers left inscriptions on the walls of the Reichstag in Berlin. Today, most of these inscriptions can only be seen in photo archives and museums. To mark the 75th anniversary, the #VictoryFont May was created as the core element of the #VictoryPages project, which is a versatile social media documentary. The font is based on hundreds of original historical inscriptions studied during months of research. It is a tool designed to commemorate the veterans and convey a message of peace. Through its characters and symbols, the font aims to create a link between the past and the present.
