U-Touch Phone
Although cellphones have become a necessity in our lives, technology still has yet to make it easier for the visually impaired to use cellphones just like the rest of the people. The conditional limitation of being visually impaired should not become a hindrance to using cellphones. The design of U-Touch Phone encourages technology to serve the visually impaired community better.
With the combination of a touch screen for the visually impaired, sound system, navigation system, text reading and common cellphone functions, the visually impaired community can now benefit from the convenience of mobile phones too. Even normal people forget or misplace their cellphones from time to time, let alone the visually impaired. U-Touch Phone prevents this from happening by letting the user wear the mobile phone on their shoulder, which enables someone who is blind to find his or her phone easily, and access the phone functions conveniently. By using the heaves on the screen and a voice reminder system, the user can find all the daily cellphone functions that they need.
An indicator light on the back of U-Touch Phone serves to alert pedestrians and vehicles, especially at night, to avoid any accidents. U-Touch Phone also has an emergency call function. In the event of a mishap, an intelligent host computer installed in the phone can locate the position of the user and provide the help that they need.
